A Songbird's Symphony

Project Basis
The basis for the online book, A Songbird’s Symphony, was created, tested and used in After-School Music Programs, community programs and summer programs with students ranging in age from 6 to 20 years old. Working with a diverse group of students has allowed me to develop and curate a tailored program that meets the unique needs of different student populations.

Project Present
The curriculum has been implemented in various formats—in-person, virtual, one-on-one, and group classes to accommodate the diverse learning styles of the student populations across different locations. I am thankful to the communities who have provided these platforms, including Abbott House TR Center, Songcatchers, and Dawn Treader Christian School.

Project Future
Future sites include community centers, Duquesa in the Dominican Republic (summer 2026), summer camps offering academic and music programs, a daytime after-school music enrichment program in NJ, and the Opera for All youth vocal workshop and competition through continued partnerships with New Rochelle Opera and Dawn Treader Christian School.
The Russ Hogg Creative Expressions Grant through Hackley School has supported me to create this website and publish an online book called, A Songbird’s Symphony, Volume 1. This book serves as a creative resource to guide young students to learn the fundamentals of music, including vocal exercises, techniques, and repertoire selection. Through both this website and online book, I aim to provide aspiring young vocalists with more valuable resources—such as auditioning tips, guidance on selecting repertoire and information about supportive communities they can refer to for further support.
